20화 두 사람의 방식

월요일 회의에서 지안이 계약안을 발표했다.

깔끔했다. 흠잡을 데가 없었다. 슬라이드도, 말투도, 질문에 답하는 속도까지. 팀장이 만족스러운 표정을 지었다.

발표가 끝나갈 무렵 태경이 조용히 손을 들었다.

"계약 기간이 열두 달로 되어 있는데요. 프로젝트 일정은 열네 달입니다."

회의실이 잠깐 조용해졌다.

지안이 한 박자 늦게 웃었다. "아, 그건 표준 템플릿이라서요. 나중에 부록으로 처리하면 됩니다."

"부록은 양쪽 서명이 필요하죠. 그때 상대가 조건을 다시 걸면요?"

"…확인해보겠습니다."

회의가 끝나고 복도에서 지안이 태경을 붙잡았다. 목소리는 여전히 웃고 있었다.

"태경 씨는 여전하네. 회의에서 짚는 거."

"먼저 말할 기회가 없었어요."

"그래?" 지안이 잠깐 은호 쪽을 봤다. "신입이 미리 찾아준 거 아니고?"

태경이 대답하지 않았다.

At Monday's meeting, Ms. Kang presented the contract proposal.

It was clean. Nothing to criticize — the slides, the delivery, even the speed of her answers. The team leader looked satisfied.

Near the end of the presentation, Taekyung quietly raised his hand.

"The contract term is listed as twelve months. The project timeline is fourteen."

The room went briefly silent.

Ms. Kang laughed half a beat late. "Ah, that's from the standard template. We can handle it with an addendum later."

"An addendum requires both signatures. What if they attach new conditions at that point?"

"…I'll look into it."

After the meeting, Ms. Kang stopped Taekyung in the hallway. Her voice was still smiling.

"You haven't changed. Pointing things out in meetings."

"There wasn't an earlier chance to raise it."

"Really?" She glanced briefly toward Eunho. "Not something the new hire found for you?"

Taekyung did not answer.
