19화 새 얼굴

12월 첫째 주, 팀에 새 사람이 왔다.

"인사해요. 이번 확장 프로젝트 같이할 지안 과장님."

문을 열고 들어온 사람을 보는 순간, 태경의 표정이 순간 굳는 걸 은호는 놓치지 않았다. 아주 짧았지만 분명했다.

지안이 웃는 얼굴로 손을 내밀었다. "오랜만이네, 태경 씨."

"…네."

"이번 지사장 자리, 결국 우리 둘 싸움이겠네." 가벼운 농담처럼 들렸지만, 말투 어딘가에 은근한 날이 서 있었다.

회의가 끝나고 은호가 조심스레 물었다. "두 분 아는 사이세요?"

"입사 동기예요."

"아…"

"3년 전에 본사로 갔다가 이번에 돌아온 거고." 태경은 그 이상 말하지 않았다. 다만 자료를 정리하는 손끝이 평소보다 조금 빨랐다.

The moment the door opened, Eunho did not miss the way Taekyung's expression tightened. It was brief, but unmistakable.

Ms. Kang held out her hand with a smile. "It's been a while, Taekyung."

"Looks like the branch director position will come down to the two of us." It sounded like a light joke, but there was something sharp underneath.

After the meeting, Eunho asked carefully, "Do you two know each other?"

"We joined the same year."

"Ah…"

"She transferred to headquarters three years ago and came back this quarter." Taekyung said nothing more. But his hands moved a little faster than usual as he sorted the documents.
