11화 조금씩

10월이 되자 공기가 달라졌다.

태경도 조금씩 달라졌다. 큰 변화는 아니었다. 그저 가끔 먼저 말을 걸고, 점심을 같이 먹는 정도. 하지만 태경에게는 그것만으로도 드문 일이라는 걸, 은호는 옆자리 선배의 표정을 보고 알았다.

"둘이 무슨 일 있었어?" 선배가 은호에게 물었다.

"무슨 일이요?"

"아니, 저 대리님이 누구랑 밥을 먹는 걸 내가 3년 만에 봐서."

은호는 웃었다. 그런데 이상하게, 그 말이 하루 종일 기분 좋았다.

그날 오후 회의에서 태경이 은호가 정리한 자료를 화면에 띄우며 말했다. "이 부분은 은호 씨가 정리한 겁니다." 별거 아닌 한 문장이었다. 그런데 은호는 그 문장을 오래 기억하게 됐다.

By October, the air had changed.

Taekyung changed a little too. Nothing dramatic. Just that he sometimes spoke first now, and that they occasionally ate lunch together. But Eunho realized how unusual even that was for him, from the look on his colleague's face.

"Did something happen between you two?" the colleague asked.

"Something like what?"

"It's just — I've worked here three years and that's the first time I have seen him eat with anyone."

Eunho laughed. And oddly, the remark kept him in a good mood all day.

That afternoon, in a meeting, Taekyung put the material Eunho had organized on the screen and said, "This section was prepared by Eunho."

It was one ordinary sentence. But Eunho would remember it for a long time.
