10화 묻지 않는 법

그 뒤로 은호는 더 캐묻지 않았다.

대신 다른 방식으로 곁에 있기로 했다. 태경이 야근할 때 말없이 커피를 놓고 갔다. 소매 얘기는 두 번 다시 꺼내지 않았다. 태경이 어쩌다 실수를 해도 다른 사람들처럼 놀리지 않고 그냥 넘겨줬다.

처음 며칠은 태경도 경계했다. 커피를 놓고 가면 고맙다는 말도 없이 그냥 마셨고, 눈도 마주치지 않았다.

그런데 2주쯤 지났을 때였다. 은호가 자료를 찾느라 자리를 비운 사이, 책상 위에 포스트잇이 하나 붙어 있었다.

글씨가 반듯했다. 은호는 그 종이를 한참 들여다봤다.

After that, Eunho stopped asking.

Instead, he decided to be present in a different way. He left coffee on Taekyung's desk without a word when he worked late. He never brought up the sleeves again. When Taekyung made an occasional mistake, Eunho let it pass instead of teasing him the way others did.

For the first few days, Taekyung stayed guarded. He drank the coffee without a word of thanks and never met his eyes.

But about two weeks in, something changed. While Eunho was away looking for a document, he came back to find a sticky note on his desk.

The handwriting was neat. Eunho stared at the small piece of paper for a long while.
