8월 31일, 계약이 끝났다.

집주인이 와서 확인하고 보증금을 돌려줬다. 은호는 열쇠를 넘기고 나왔다.

출국은 9월 3일이었다. 사흘 동안 본가에 있기로 했다.

기차를 타러 가는 길에 태경에게서 전화가 왔다.

"짐 다 보냈어요?"

"네. 20일에요."

"캐비닛도요?"

"네."

잠깐 정적이 있었다.

"열어봤어요?"

은호가 걸음을 멈췄다.

"…아니요."

"왜요."

"대리님이 열라고 하신 적 없으니까요."

또 정적.

"…열어봐도 됐는데."

"알아요." 은호가 말했다. "근데 대리님이 직접 보여주고 싶어할 수도 있잖아요."

전화기 너머에서 숨 쉬는 소리가 들렸다.

"…은호 씨."

"네."

"3일에 몇 시 도착이에요."

"오후 두 시 사십 분이요."

"공항에 갈게요."

은호가 웃었다.

"지사장이 평일 오후에요?"

"…반차 쓰면 되잖아요."

기차가 들어오고 있었다.

"What time do you land on the third?"

"Two forty in the afternoon."

"I'll come to the airport."

Eunho laughed.

"A branch director, on a weekday afternoon?"

"…I can take a half day."

The train was pulling in.
