English
Sunday afternoon, on the train back.
Eunho took the window seat; Taekyung sat on the aisle.
What he had heard under the streetlight the night before kept circling.
*It wouldn't be a misunderstanding.*
After that, neither of them had said anything. They had reached the hotel and gone to their own rooms, greeted each other normally this morning, and now they were sitting side by side.
Eunho spoke first.
"About last night."
"Yes."
"What did that mean?"
Taekyung looked out the window. Rice fields were passing.
"…Exactly what it sounded like."
"Then why aren't you saying anything?"
"It isn't that I have nothing to say." He paused. "I leave at the end of April."
"I know."
"I'm not sure it's right to start something and then go."
Eunho looked at him.
"That isn't yours to decide."
Taekyung turned.
"…Sorry?"
"What I can handle is mine to decide," Eunho said evenly. "Whether to give it a name, or not to."
The train went into a tunnel. The window went black and their faces appeared in the glass.
Taekyung said nothing.
But until they came out of the tunnel, he did not look away.
