11월, 은호도 파견 심사 대상이 됐다.

정확히는 3개월 시범 기간 종료 심사였다. 계속 남을지, 서울로 돌아갈지를 본인이 적어 내는 절차였다.

양식을 열었을 때 은호는 잠깐 멈췄다.

작년 여름에 지원서 사유란 앞에서 멈췄던 게 떠올랐다. 그때는 사흘이 걸렸다.

이번엔 오 분 만에 썼다.

*사유: 현지 채용 세 명 중 아무도 아직 한 분기를 혼자 돌리지 못했습니다. 제가 지금 빠지면 서울에서 오는 사람이 처음부터 배워야 합니다. 그리고 저는 이 프로젝트의 시장 분석을 처음부터 맡았고, 실행 단계가 끝나는 걸 보고 싶습니다.*

거기까지 쓰고 은호는 커서를 한참 뒀다.

또 한 줄이 있었다. 작년과 똑같이.

이번에도 쓰지 않았다.

다만 이번엔 이유가 달랐다.

아니었다. 규정상 태경은 이 서류를 못 본다.

*쓰면 내가 그걸 이유로 남았다고 기록되니까.*

은호는 저장을 눌렀다.

This time it took five minutes.

He left the cursor there for a long time.

There was one more line. The same as last year.

He did not write it this time either.

But the reason was different now.
