4화 파트너

목요일 오후, 팀장이 두 사람을 회의실로 불렀다.

"이번 분기 해외지사 확장 프로젝트, 은호 씨 교육 겸 태경 씨랑 같이 붙어서 해줘요."

짧은 통보였다. 은호에게는 예상 밖의 반가움이었고, 태경의 표정은 정반대였다. 미묘하게, 아주 미묘하게 굳는 걸 은호는 놓치지 않았다.

"잘 부탁드립니다, 파트너님."

장난스레 내민 손을, 태경은 이번엔 마지못해 잡았다. 짧은 악수였다. 그런데 손이 생각보다 뜨거웠다. 냉방이 잘 되는 사무실 안에서 그럴 리가 없는데도.

은호는 그 온도를 이상하리만치 오래 기억하게 됐다.

On Thursday afternoon, the team leader called them both into a meeting room.

"For this quarter's overseas expansion project, Taekyung, work closely with Eunho—it will also serve as his training."

It was a brief announcement. For Eunho it came as an unexpected gladness; Taekyung's reaction was the opposite. Eunho did not miss the way his expression tightened, just slightly.

"I look forward to working with you, partner."

Eunho held out his hand playfully, and this time Taekyung took it, though reluctantly. It was a short handshake. But the hand felt warmer than he had expected — which made no sense in a well-air-conditioned office.

He would remember that warmth for a strangely long time.
